New week in Latvia to begin with rain and strong winds

Monday will be mostly cloudy, with only occasional sunny spells. A band of precipitation will move across Latvia from the west, bringing rain to almost the entire country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC).

Moderate to moderately strong southerly and southwesterly winds are expected, with gusts reaching 15–19 metres per second. During the night, the strongest gusts will affect western and central Latvia, while during the day they will be concentrated mainly along the coast.

Overnight temperatures will fall to between +6°C and +11°C, while daytime highs will range from +9°C to +12°C.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bring variable cloud cover. Western Latvia will experience more clouds, with rain expected overnight and during Tuesday morning. Wednesday, however, is forecast to remain dry.

Fog will develop in some areas during the nights and mornings, reducing visibility.

Light to moderate southerly and southeasterly winds will prevail, although gusty conditions will persist in coastal areas on Tuesday.

During Tuesday night, temperatures across most of Latvia will drop to between +3°C and +7°C, while coastal areas will remain warmer, with readings of +7°C to +11°C.

Temperatures on Wednesday night are expected to fall by another degree or so.

During the daytime, temperatures will remain between +9°C and +13°C.

Weather conditions are expected to become generally calmer during the remainder of the week, with sunny intervals alternating with cloudy periods.

Light to moderate winds from southerly directions will prevail, although occasional rain is expected in almost every region at some point.

Temperatures will remain relatively stable throughout the week, with no significant changes expected in either daytime highs or overnight lows compared with the preceding days.
