Forecasters release latest weekend forecast for Latvia – weather set to change

On Friday, skies will be partly cloudy and the weather will remain dry. Winds will be light, allowing fog to thicken in some areas during the night, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Across most of the country, temperatures will fall to +8…+11°C overnight, while coastal areas will remain warmer at +12…+15°C. During the day, sunshine will raise temperatures to +19…+23°C.

Saturday will begin with relatively little cloud, but skies will gradually become overcast from the west during the day. Rain will reach Kurzeme, spreading to central parts of the country later in the evening, with thunderstorms also possible in some areas.

Rain is expected across most of Latvia on Sunday as well. On Saturday night, light to moderate south-easterly and easterly winds will prevail, becoming gusty during the day.

On Sunday, winds will shift to the south and generally weaken.

Night-time temperatures will range between +10°C and +15°C in many areas, while daytime temperatures will reach no higher than +18…+23°C.

At the beginning of next week, when Latvia marks the start of the new school year on Knowledge Day, temperatures will remain moderately warm, although rain is expected in many areas.
