On Wednesday, the 12th of August, skies will be mostly cloudy, although they will begin to clear in western parts of Latvia during the day. Brief showers are expected in many areas overnight, but only locally during the day. Thunderstorms will still be possible in some areas at the beginning of the night, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Light to moderate westerly and northwesterly winds will prevail, with gusts reaching 15–16 m/s along the Gulf coast overnight and up to 14 m/s on Wednesday evening. Overnight temperatures will fall to +7°C to +12°C, while many coastal areas will remain warmer at +12°C to +16°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to +16°C to +21°C.
On Thursday, skies will be partly cloudy and no significant precipitation is expected. Winds will be light, becoming moderate along the Gulf coast overnight and shifting to the northwest and north. Fog will develop in some areas overnight, mainly in Kurzeme, reducing visibility. Temperatures will fall to +8°C to +13°C overnight and +13°C to +16°C in many coastal areas, before rising to +18°C to +23°C during the day.
On Friday, skies will remain partly cloudy. Although there will be more cloud cover in the eastern part of the country, dry weather is expected.
WINDS WILL BE LIGHT. OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES WILL FALL TO +9°C TO +13°C,
and to +12°C to +16°C along the coast, while daytime temperatures will rise to +9°C to +24°C.
Over the weekend, the continued influence of a high-pressure system will keep conditions mostly dry and sunny, with temperatures rising by a few more degrees.
At the beginning of next week, skies will become cloudier, with occasional precipitation. Temperatures will gradually begin to fall, although daytime conditions will generally remain warm and summery.
