On Tuesday and Wednesday, the 11th and the 12th of August, a band of precipitation will continue to move across Latvia, bringing periods of rain to most of the country. Thunderstorms and heavy downpours are also expected in some eastern and central areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Light to moderate westerly and northwesterly winds will prevail. On Tuesday, wind gusts will reach 15–19 m/s, increasing to as much as 20 m/s in central parts of the country. On Wednesday, gusts of 15–16 m/s will persist only overnight along the Gulf coast.
On Tuesday night, temperatures will fall to +12°C to +17°C. On Wednesday night, temperatures will drop to +10°C to +13°C, while coastal areas will remain slightly warmer at +13°C to +16°C. Daytime temperatures will reach +17°C to +21°C.
On Thursday night, skies will be partly cloudy, with cloud cover increasing during the day. However, no significant precipitation is expected. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail. Overnight temperatures will fall to +8°C to +13°C, while coastal areas will see +13°C to +16°C.
During the day, temperatures will rise to +17°C to +21°C.
During the second half of the week, the influence of a high-pressure system will strengthen, causing atmospheric pressure to rise. Gusty winds will ease and conditions will become increasingly sunny.
Most days will remain largely dry, although occasional rain is expected on Sunday. Temperatures will gradually rise, bringing warmer conditions than those experienced in the middle of the week.
