Government in Latvia suggested to provide benefits to seniors and families with children

To support Latvian residents in a situation when the rapid climb of energy prices has a serious effect on every household, political party New Unity suggested at a meeting of government parties on Monday, 17 January, to provide benefits to seniors and families with children.
Today the party’s board decided focused support would be provided to families with children for a period of four months and the amount of EUR 50 would be paid for every child in the family. For seniors in the country the amount paid would be doubled from the current monthly amount of EUR 20 to EUR 40.
The party’s board has delegated representatives to the meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers to invite ministers to support this proposal.
