A broad rainfall system will continue crossing Latvia

On Tuesday a broad precipitation zone will continue moving across Latvia during the first part of the day. Rain is expected mainly in the Vidzeme region, with locally heavy rainfall possible in the morning. Precipitation will gradually ease during the afternoon. According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, clouds will gradually clear from the southwest during the day, allowing sunshine to break through.

By evening, a new precipitation zone will gradually approach Latvia from the southwest. Air temperatures will rise to +19°C to +23°C, while coastal areas of Kurzeme and parts of Vidzeme will see temperatures of +16°C to +18°C.

On Wednesday, another precipitation zone will move across the country from the west. Rain is expected overnight in western and central regions and will spread to eastern areas from the morning onward. Fog may form in some locations during the night. Light to moderate westerly winds will prevail. Overnight temperatures will range from +11°C to +16°C, while daytime highs will reach +16°C to +22°C.

ON THURSDAY, UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF A NEW CYCLONE, RAIN IS EXPECTED IN MANY PARTS OF THE COUNTRY.

In the east, heavy and prolonged rainfall is forecast, with thunderstorms possible during the afternoon.

Winds will remain light. The night will be cooler, with temperatures dropping to +9°C to +14°C. During the day, temperatures will reach +12°C to +17°C, while southeastern regions may warm to +19°C to +24°C.

Toward the end of the week, sunshine will alternate with clouds and winds will remain light. However, conditions will stay wet, with frequent rainfall and high humidity.
