On Thursday, cloud cover will increase and light rain is expected in some areas, with sleet possible during the night, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Overnight, temperatures in many areas will fall to between +1 and −2°C, while coastal regions will remain slightly warmer at +1 to +4°C. During the day, temperatures across most of the country will rise to +7 to +12°C, although in parts of Vidzeme it will not exceed +4 to +6°C.
From Friday onward, an anticyclone will dominate weather conditions in Latvia, bringing an improvement—winds will become light, cloud cover will decrease, and sunshine will be more frequent, resulting in dry and pleasant weather. Daytime temperatures will rise above +20°C in many areas, while nighttime temperatures will remain no lower than +4 to +9°C.
At the beginning of next week, rain clouds will once again move across the country, bringing a cooler air mass. Nighttime temperatures are expected to range between 0 and +6°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +10 to +15°C across most of the territory.
