After sunny days, a cyclone is coming: rain and strong winds to reach Latvia

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the sky will have variable cloud cover, with clearer conditions more frequent at night, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Dry weather will persist. A light to moderate northerly wind will blow, strengthening on Wednesday from the west and northwest, with gusts reaching 15–16 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between -4°C and +2°C, with warmer conditions along the coast, while daytime temperatures will rise to +10°C to +16°C. In many coastal areas it will be slightly cooler, around +7°C to +10°C.

In the second half of the week, a large cyclone will reach Latvia, bringing more frequent precipitation and gusty winds of up to 15–17 m/s.

Rain is expected mainly in the eastern part of the country,

with the possibility of wet snow or snow in some areas. By the weekend, precipitation is expected across the entire country.

Nighttime temperatures will remain similar, with many areas dropping below 0°C, while coastal regions will be a few degrees warmer. Daytime temperatures will become cooler, generally ranging between +5°C and +10°C.
