Spring warmth to be replaced by rain – what to expect in the coming days

On Wednesday, the sky will be partly cloudy, with more cloud cover in the western regions. In the evening, rain will reach southwestern parts of the country, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

Winds will be light. At night, temperatures will drop to between +1°C and +6°C, with some areas in central and eastern Latvia around 0°C. During the day, the air will warm up to +11°C to +16°C, although in some coastal areas along the Gulf it will remain cooler, around +10°C.

On Thursday and Friday, the sky will be mostly cloudy with occasional clear spells. Rain is expected at times across most of the country. Winds will remain light. From the second half of Thursday night,

fog may form in some southwestern regions, and on Friday morning in parts of western Latvia.

Night-time temperatures will again fall to between +1°C and +6°C. During the day, temperatures will reach +10°C to +14°C. On Thursday, much of Kurzeme will see cooler conditions between +5°C and +10°C, while on Friday temperatures in northern Vidzeme could rise to as high as +17°C.

Over the weekend and at the beginning of next week, precipitation will ease and sunshine will become more frequent. Night-time temperatures will still drop below 0°C in many areas, while daytime temperatures will generally remain within the +5°C to +10°C range.
