The campaign also uncovered particularly severe cases where drivers were banned from driving

due to excessive speeding.

The fastest driver was recorded in Ventspils Municipality, where a BMW driver was traveling at 156 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 km/h.

For such an offense, the driver faces a fine ranging from 720 euros to 960 euros and a driving ban of nine months.

Another driver, a motorcyclist in Riga, was caught traveling at 109 km/h on Krasta Street in an area where the speed limit is 50 km/h. As a result, the rider was banned from driving for 12 months.

For this type of violation, the penalty ranges from 700 euros to 880 euros, along with a one-year driving ban.

The campaign, organized by the Roadpol network, aims to draw attention to the dangers and consequences of speeding.
