Meteorologists: an anticyclone will bring dry and calm weather to Latvia

On Thursday and Friday, weather conditions will be influenced by an anticyclone from the north — sunshine will appear more frequently and the days will be dry, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

A light to moderate northeasterly to northerly wind will blow, and gusts will gradually subside. At night, as the skies clear, temperatures will drop to +1…-4°C, while during the day the air will warm to +3…+8°C; on Friday, it will be slightly warmer in some areas.

Over the weekend, weather conditions will be similar, although in some places occasional rain clouds may appear,

bringing short-term rain, and in some areas possibly wet snow.

Although temperatures will still fall below zero at night in some places, daytime temperatures will be a few degrees higher than during the working week. At the beginning of the new week, weather conditions will remain changeable — both rain clouds and sunshine are expected. Days will become warmer, and nighttime temperatures will remain above 0°C.
