Cloud cover will dominate the skies on Monday, with only occasional sunshine breaking through. From midday onwards, light rain is expected in parts of central and eastern regions, while fog will form overnight in some areas. Winds will remain light. Nighttime temperatures will drop to between -2°C and +2°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +9°C…+12°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre. It will be cooler along the coast, with temperatures ranging from +4°C to +8°C.
On Tuesday, clearer skies and sunshine are expected mainly in western parts of the country, while on Wednesday this trend will extend across much of Latvia. Precipitation is forecast only in some eastern areas, where intermittent rain may occur on Tuesday and into the night leading into Wednesday.
During the night into Wednesday, dense fog will form across much of Kurzeme, and in some coastal areas it may persist throughout the day. Winds will remain light. Nighttime temperatures will fall a few degrees below 0°C in many places, while
daytime temperatures will reach +7°C…+12°C, remaining a few degrees cooler along the coast.
In the second half of the week, the influence of a cyclone will increase. Skies will often be overcast, with precipitation expected in many areas at times, mainly in the form of rain. Nighttime temperatures will still drop below 0°C in some locations, while daytime highs are expected to range from +5°C…+8°C along the coast to +9°C…+12°C across much of Latvia.
