Rain and snowflakes early in the week in Latvia, temperatures up to +15°C over the weekend

On Monday and Tuesday, light rain is expected in some areas, while during the night into Tuesday, a few snowflakes may also appear in places, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

During the night, light frost of up to -3°C is expected in many areas, while in some places — especially near the coast — temperatures will hover around 0°C. During the day, temperatures across most of the country will rise to between +7°C and +12°C. Winds will generally be light to moderate from the south.

In the middle and second half of the week, precipitation will increase, as several active weather fronts move across Latvia, bringing light to moderate rain to many areas.

Southerly winds will gradually shift to northerly directions and occasionally strengthen.

The windiest conditions are expected on Wednesday, when gusts may reach 15–16 m/s across much of the country.

Night-time temperatures will remain around 0°C to +5°C, while daytime highs will reach +8°C to +13°C. Over the weekend, temperatures in some areas may exceed +15°C.
