On Tuesday, the 24th of February, marking four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a record amount of donations was raised across Latvia during various events held in support of Ukraine.
At the Latvian National Opera, the foundation “Uzņēmēji mieram” (Entrepreneurs for Peace) organized a charity strength concert to conclude the campaign “Aizved mani!” (“Take Me With You!”). More than 130 artists participated, and at the culmination of the concert 1,450,000 euros was donated in support of Ukraine’s defenders.
The charity campaign “Aizved mani!” was launched in December 2025 in cooperation with “McCann Riga” with the aim of raising funds by the war’s anniversary for the evacuation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers from the front line and for the provision of critically important equipment. Its symbolic finale was the charity concert. The campaign was inspired by the story of a wounded soldier, reflected in an emotional video featuring Uldis Marhilēvičs’ song “Lūgums” (“A Prayer”).
The funds raised are being directed toward evacuation transport, unmanned ground systems,
communication and power supply solutions, as well as night-vision equipment for frontline medics to ensure that assistance reaches the wounded as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile, Latvian Public Media (LSM), in cooperation with Ziedot.lv, implemented the support campaign “In Thoughts and Deeds Together with Ukraine!” from the 9th to the 25th of February, marking four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion.
During the campaign, residents donated 745,000 euros. The public was encouraged to support Ukrainian civilians at a time when Russia’s attacks had destroyed energy infrastructure, leaving many without heating, electricity, and light. The donated funds will be used to purchase generators and to provide electricity and heating to communities where it is vitally needed.
TV24 has also followed developments on the front line since the first day of the war — informing viewers in more than 1,150 live broadcasts, organizing charity auctions, and encouraging public donations. Over four years, 1.5 million euros has been raised for Ukraine with the support of TV24.
