Trump blames Zelensky, not Putin, for delaying peace talks

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that it is Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, rather than Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who is hindering the conclusion of a peace agreement.
“I think he (Putin) is ready to make a deal. I think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with Reuters in the Oval Office at the White House.
He claimed that the Russian dictator is prepared to end the invasion of Ukraine, while Zelensky is more reluctant.
When asked why US-led talks have so far failed to bring the war to an end,

Trump answered with a single word: “Zelensky.”

At the same time, the White House chief indicated that he could meet with the Ukrainian president during the World Economic Forum in Davos, which will take place from the 19th to the 23rd of January.
Meanwhile, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner are planning to travel to Moscow in the near future to meet with the Russian dictator.
