Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has called European leaders “small pigs” who want to profit from Russia’s collapse, writes Politico.
In a speech given as Europeans prepare to agree on a financing model to support Kiev, Putin indicated that Europe wants to recover something lost in previous stages of history and take revenge on Russia. Speaking at the annual Defense Ministry conference, the Russian dictator accused former US President Joe Biden of deliberately provoking a war in Ukraine, which European small pigs immediately joined.
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has since faced Western sanctions and diplomatic isolation. Despite this, Putin still announced that Russia had demonstrated an unshakable economic, financial and domestic political situation in society, and therefore – also in defense capabilities. The Kremlin boss also indicated that Russia was ready to negotiate with Europe, but this would not be possible with the current politicians.
Despite occasional remarks about readiness for dialogue, the Kremlin continues its hostilities,
and has rejected peace offers that would provide for withdrawal from the occupied territories of Ukraine. Kiev and its allies have indicated that Russia is using the negotiations as a lever for its own benefit, rather than engaging in reasonable diplomacy.
Representatives of the United States and Russia are expected to meet in Miami over the weekend to discuss a revised peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Putin praised the Russian army in Moscow, saying that no other army in the world has such a good one, which is now also war-hardened.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned in early December that alliance member states must do more to prepare for a possible large-scale war.
