Wednesday will be cloudy with occasional clear spells. From the afternoon, snow is expected in the southeastern regions, increasing snow cover by 4–6 cm. As before, certain road sections will remain slippery! A light wind will blow, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
During the night, temperatures will drop to –3…–8°C, while the Kurzeme coast along the gulf will be slightly warmer at –1…–2°C. The maximum daytime temperature is expected to range from –2 to +3°C.
On Thursday, prolonged snowfall is expected in the central and eastern regions, with snow cover increasing by 5–9 cm in some places. We also inform that on Thursday some road sections will again be slippery! A light to moderate northerly wind will blow, gradually shifting to the southwest and south from midday. Nighttime temperatures will be +2…–3°C, and daytime temperatures –2…+2°C. Along the coast it will be slightly warmer, with temperatures in some places remaining a few degrees above zero.
On Friday, light snow is expected in the southeastern regions during the first half of the night,
while the day will be dry. Road sections will still be slippery in some areas! A light to moderate, and along the coast moderately strong, south to southwest wind will blow. In coastal areas, gusts may reach up to 15 m/s during the day. The night will be slightly colder than the previous one, with temperatures dropping to –1…–6°C, and in Kurzeme –1…+4°C. Daytime temperatures will reach –1…+3°C, and in Kurzeme and along the gulf coast +3…+7°C.
Over the weekend, nighttime frost will persist in many areas, while daytime temperatures will be colder mainly in the eastern part of the country. In the west and coastal regions, temperatures will more frequently rise above zero. Compared to the first half of the week, precipitation intensity will decrease. At the start of next week, the weather will remain mostly dry, with temperatures similar to those expected over the weekend.
