Fog and drizzle to persist – forecast for the coming days

Tuesday will be cloudy, with occasional brighter spells. Light rain and drizzle are expected across most of the country both at night and during the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

The heaviest precipitation at night is forecast in the southeastern regions, while during the day more rain is expected in some coastal areas along the sea and the Gulf of Riga. Overnight and in the morning, fog will form in some places, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southerly and southwesterly wind will blow, becoming gusty along the coast from midday. Night-time temperatures will drop to +5…+10°C, while

daytime temperatures will reach +8…+12°C.

Wednesday and Thursday will remain grey and cloudy. Occasional rain and drizzle are expected. Overnight into Wednesday and during the morning hours, fog will thicken in some places, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southwesterly to southerly wind will blow, becoming gustier near the coast. Night-time temperatures will fall to +6…+11°C, while daytime highs will range from +9…+13°C.

On Friday and throughout the weekend, both rainfall intensity and coverage will decrease. During daylight hours, temperatures across much of the country will continue to exceed +10°C, though nights will be a few degrees cooler compared to the first half of the week.
