Today will be cloudy and rainy – what to know before heading out

On Thursday, the weather will be cloudy, and rain is expected in some areas, mainly in the western and central regions. In the morning, patches of mist may reduce visibility. A light to moderate south or southeast wind will blow. Air temperatures will reach +6°C to +11°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Friday, a thick blanket of clouds will cover the sky. Rain is expected in many places during the night and morning, but from midday onward, rainfall will gradually ease, with showers remaining only in isolated areas. Patches of fog and mist may form in some regions during the night and morning. Overnight, the wind will gradually shift to the northwest and west. Along the coast, gusts could reach 15–19 m/s. Both the minimum nighttime and maximum daytime temperatures will range from +7°C to +10°C.

Over the weekend, daytime temperatures will reach +7°C to +12°C, while nighttime temperatures will drop to +3°C to +8°C, although in some western areas it may remain slightly milder at +8°C to +10°C.

On Saturday, light rain is expected in a few places, whereas on Sunday, precipitation will be more widespread.

Fog is likely to form in some areas overnight into Saturday. From Saturday night, the wind will shift to the southeast and south, blowing lightly to moderately.

The beginning of next week will be influenced by a cyclone, bringing more wet and grey weather — rain is expected in many places. Temperatures during the day and night will remain similar to recent days.
