On Tuesday and Wednesday, skies over Latvia will be partly cloudy, although by Wednesday afternoon, clouds will gradually increase from the west, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Tuesday will be dry, and no significant precipitation is expected on Wednesday either. During the night and early morning on Tuesday, fog will form in some areas, which may significantly reduce visibility. A light to moderate south and southeast wind will blow, strengthening along the coast to gusts of up to 14 m/s early Wednesday night.
During the night to Tuesday, air temperatures will drop to 0…–5°C in many places, while by the night to Wednesday, sub-zero temperatures will persist mainly in central and eastern regions.
Daytime air temperatures will rise to +6…+10°C.
In the second half of the week, the amount of sunshine will gradually decrease, and precipitation will be observed in most parts of the country. As warmer air masses continue to flow into Latvia, temperatures — both day and night — will remain above freezing, becoming a few degrees higher than in the middle of the week.
By the end of the week, southeast and south winds will strengthen and become gusty in many areas.
At the start of next week, weather conditions will remain largely unchanged — rain clouds will still dominate most of the country, and gusty winds will persist in places. The only notable change will be that air temperatures, both at night and during the day, will be a few degrees lower.
