Wednesday will bring partly cloudy weather, gradually turning overcast across western and central regions during the day, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC).
The night will remain mostly dry, but starting in the morning, a broad precipitation zone will move in from the west, bringing periodic rain to western and central parts of the country. Fog will form overnight in some areas, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southerly wind is expected.
Minimum air temperatures at night will range from +5°C to +10°C in the west and +2°C to +5°C in the east, while during the day, temperatures will rise to +11°C to +15°C.
On Thursday night, rain will continue mainly in the western and central regions, while during the day rain clouds will reach eastern areas as well — occasional showers are expected. The sky will be mostly cloudy, though some clear intervals will appear. Fog will thicken overnight and in the early morning, again limiting visibility.
Across most of the country,
a light to moderate south or southwest wind will blow, turning to southwesterly or westerly in western Latvia overnight.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to +8°C to +12°C, though the east will be cooler — +1°C to +6°C. Daytime highs will reach +11°C to +16°C, slightly cooler in the east.
According to the LVĢMC, Friday will be mostly cloudy, though skies will gradually clear during the day. Another rain band from the west will cross Latvia, bringing occasional rain across much of the country. Fog will form in places overnight and in the morning, reducing visibility. A light to moderate southwest or south wind will shift to westerly and southwesterly, with gusts up to 15 m/s along the coast.
Nighttime temperatures will fall to +7°C to +12°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +11°C to +14°C.
During the weekend, frequent rain clouds will again bring precipitation across most of Latvia, accompanied by gustier winds not only along the coast but inland as well.
On Saturday night, air temperatures will drop to +5°C to +10°C, remaining slightly warmer near the sea, while daytime highs will reach around +9°C to +13°C.
On Sunday, both daytime and nighttime temperatures will be a few degrees cooler.
At the start of next week, the weather will remain similarly autumnal and rainy, with nights and days gradually becoming cooler across the country.
