A few more days of summer warmth before cyclone clouds reach Latvia

Monday will be mostly sunny, though in some western regions the skies will occasionally cloud over, bringing brief showers in places. A light wind will prevail, and in the early morning hours fog may form in some areas, reducing visibility. Air temperatures will rise to +21…+26°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.

On Tuesday, conditions will be similar – skies will be partly cloudy, but no precipitation is expected. A light easterly wind will continue, which means fog may again thicken in some areas overnight and in the morning. Temperatures will fall to +11…+16°C at night and rise to +20…+25°C during the day.

On Wednesday, cloud cover will increase and rain is expected in places during the day, with a chance of thunderstorms and heavy showers in western regions. A light to moderate easterly wind will persist. Nighttime temperatures will be +10…+15°C, while daytime highs will reach +21…+26°C.

In the second half of the week, the influence of a cyclone from the west will intensify – rain clouds will spread across much of the country, and on Thursday the east and southeast winds will strengthen, with gusts reaching 15–19 m/s. In the following days, air temperatures will remain similar: not cooler than +12°C at night, and in many places still above +20°C during the day, though by the end of the week some areas may see slightly cooler conditions.
