On Knowledge Day, the skies will be mostly cloudy, though at times the sun will peek through. Rain is expected in some areas – at the beginning of the night, heavier showers are forecast in the easternmost regions, while from the second half of the night, light, brief rainfall may occur in places, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
With light winds blowing, fog will form in some areas overnight, significantly reducing visibility. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +11…+16°C, while during the day they will rise to +17…+21°C.
On Tuesday, clouds will prevail, but they will gradually clear during the day, and the weather will be dry. Fog will form in some areas overnight and in the morning. A light to moderate easterly wind will blow. Minimum air temperatures will be similar to the previous night, while daytime highs will reach +20…+24°C in most of the country. In Kurzeme, along the bay coast, with winds blowing from the water, temperatures will not exceed +18…+19°C.
According to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre, on Wednesday the sun will alternate with clouds. At night, rain is expected mainly in western regions, but during the day showers will spread across most of the country – in some places heavy downpours are possible, along with thunderstorms. A light to moderate easterly wind will gradually shift to a southerly direction in the morning. Nighttime temperatures will be +13…+17°C, cooler in the eastern regions – +10…+12°C. Daytime highs are expected between +20…+25°C.
In the second half of the week, the weather will remain similar – occasional sunshine between clouds, with intermittent rain and possible thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures will fall to +12…+17°C, while the days will remain warm, with local highs reaching up to +25°C.
