Drone crashes into Russian part of Lake Peipus

The Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) observed a drone flying over Lake Peipus on the morning of the 24th of August, which later crashed into the lake about six kilometers from the Estonian border on the Russian side, writes ERR News.
In Russia, in the Leningrad region, high drone activity was observed over the weekend, as Ukraine carried out attacks on various targets in the territory of the aggressor state. Ukrainian drones were sent to objects in St. Petersburg, as well as to the port of Ust-luga, which is located about 50 kilometers from the Estonian border.
According to PPA Major Ivan Posledov, the border guard detected drone flights over Lake Peipus twice on Sunday morning. The major said that the first drone was spotted at 5.20 in the morning, and after some time it disappeared from radar in Russian territory. An hour later, another drone was spotted, which was observed until it crashed into the water on the Russian side. The major noted that the drone broke up after hitting the water, most likely after an explosion. Posledov said:

“The drones never headed toward Estonia

and it remains unclear whether it was the same drone that disappeared earlier from the radar or two different drones.”
On the morning of the 24th of August, a plane traveling from Egypt to St. Petersburg was forced to make an emergency landing at Tallinn Airport. Margot Holt, head of marketing and communications at Tallinn Airport, said the plane was diverted because Pulkovo Airport was temporarily closed. She noted that neither passengers nor crew left the aircraft.
Safety expert Rainer Saks said the landing was allowed for humanitarian reasons. Saks told the Estonian portal Delfi that it was apparently impossible to land anywhere else, but there is no reason to worry.
