The key words Estonians used the most in the Google search engine in 2021 show that people in the Baltic country were interested the most in the European Football Championships, Estonian local elections and a lady on national television, Estonian public broadcaster ERR reports.
Last year, when the Covid-19 pandemic first hit Estonia, key words for internet search corresponded to the new situation of the disease and epidemiological restrictions. The year 2021 has been different, according to the list of most popular key words published by Google.

Estonians turned to sports and entertainment this year, when browsing the internet. The most popular search was «Euro 2020», which is the shortest way of looking for information about the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, which was held in 2021 and where Estonian national men’s team did not take part.
People in Estonia also thought about politics and Valimised 2021 meaning «elections 2021» landed in the second place of the list. Third came Grete Lõbu, which is the name of the bright lady hosting the current affairs show Ringvaade on ETV channel, ERR reports.
