This week the weather conditions will vary – we will not be without rain clouds and thunderstorms, and the wind will become gusty on some days. The week will start with heat in the east, reports the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
The air temperature exceeding +25 degrees in many places, but in the remaining days of the week the thermometer will fluctuate around +20…+23 degrees throughout the country.
At the beginning of the week the amount of clouds in the sky will be variable. On Monday, the 4th of August, the clouds will bring rain – at night in places, during the day in most of Latvia, we will also observe locally heavy rain and thunderstorms.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, short-term rain is expected in certain areas,
on the night of Tuesday in some places in the east it will rain heavily and we will hear thunder. If a slow wind prevails on Monday, which will intensify in places only during thunderstorms, then in the following days it will turn from the south, southwest and blow slowly to moderately, mainly on the coast in gusts reaching 15-17 m/s.
At night, the air temperature will be within +13…+19 degrees. During the daytime, the air will warm up to +18…+24 degrees,
while on Monday in the eastern part the thermometer will rise to +24…+29 degrees.
In the second half of the week, the weather scenario will not change much, only a lower intensity of rain is expected. At times, new precipitation zones will continue to cross the territory of the country, and a slow to moderate southerly wind will prevail. During the dark hours of the day, the air will cool down to +12…+17 degrees, during the day the maximum air temperature will not be higher than +25 degrees.
