On Thursday, the skies over Latvia will see variable cloud cover. Many areas can expect short-term rain showers, and during the day, some places may experience thunderstorms with heavy downpours, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Nighttime temperatures will drop to between +9°C and +14°C, while daytime highs will reach +15°C to +20°C.
On Friday, skies will be mostly cloudy, though clearer weather will arrive from the west in the afternoon. Rain—prolonged and heavy—is expected primarily in the eastern and central regions, accompanied by occasional thunder. A moderate to moderately strong northwesterly to northerly wind will blow, with gusts reaching 15–19 m/s, and up to 20–22 m/s along the Gulf of Riga coast. Nighttime temperatures will dip to +10°C to +13°C, and during the day will rise to +13°C to +19°C.
Weather conditions will improve over the weekend—clouds will gradually clear, and both the frequency and intensity of rainfall will decrease.
Rain will mostly occur in the eastern regions. Daytime temperatures will rise slightly, with thermometers climbing back to around +20°C.
Holiday weather is expected to be mixed. On Līgo Day, sunshine will alternate with clouds, and showers are likely across much of the country, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures in most areas will be around +20°C, slightly cooler in the east. Jāņi Night will be chilly, with air temperatures dropping to +13°C to +15°C. Rain is expected to continue both at night and during the day, with daytime highs reaching +15°C to +19°C.
