On Monday, clouds will cover the eastern part of Latvia, bringing rain, and in the far eastern regions, thunderstorms are possible. In contrast, the western part of the country will experience partly cloudy skies with only occasional light rain in some areas, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
With light winds prevailing, fog is expected to form in some areas during the night, reducing visibility. The minimum air temperature will range between +5°C and +10°C. During the day, temperatures will rise to +16°C to +21°C, though only +14°C to +16°C is expected along the Kurzeme coast and in the eastern regions.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY WILL SEE VARIABLE CLOUD COVER.
On Tuesday, rain will continue in the eastern regions, where thunder may also be heard. On Wednesday, rain is expected elsewhere in the country as well. During the night into Tuesday, fog will form in some places and may persist into the daytime. Nighttime temperatures will range from +7°C to +12°C. Daytime temperatures will rise to +16°C to +22°C, with cooler conditions along the coast.
During midday and afternoon, when the sun is shining, UV radiation levels will be moderately high, so meteorologists advise against prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
In the second half of the week, several precipitation zones will cross the country, bringing rain to many areas. Heavier rainfall is expected in the eastern part of the country. Winds will remain light, but in some coastal areas they will shift to the west and strengthen to moderate levels. Nighttime temperatures will remain similar, while daytime temperatures will range between +12°C and +18°C.
