In Lithuania, where the first cases of people infected with the Omicron variant of the virus SARS-CoV-2 have been found, the Health Ministry requires a period of self-isolation both to infected people and their contact persons, Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports.
Persons, who have come into contact with a confirmed or suspected Omicron case must self-isolate for ten days, regardless of their level of immunisation. The isolation cannot be cut short, even if the person tests negative for Covid-19.
People must also have a PCR test no earlier than seven days after the contact.

All travellers coming from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia, and Eswatini must present to their carrier a negative Covid-19 test not older than 72 hours before travel.
These people must also self-isolate for ten days, regardless of their level of immunisation, and take two PCR tests «within the first three days of arrival in Lithuania, and no earlier than the seventh and not later than the tenth day after the arrival», said Neringa Mikėnaitė, the Lithuanian Health Ministry‘s spokeswoman.
