From a sunny Monday to wet snow on Friday – this week’s weather forecast

On Monday, cloud cover will vary across the sky, but the day will remain dry. With light winds, fog will thicken at night and in the morning, reducing visibility to 100–500 meters, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Centre.

During the night, temperatures will drop to -2…+2°C, while daytime temperatures will rise to +11…+16°C. However, in some areas along the Gulf of Riga coast in Kurzeme, the air temperature will not exceed +4…+9°C.

In the following days, the sky will be mostly cloudy, with occasional clear spells. On Tuesday and Wednesday, light rain is expected in some areas, with a chance of wet snow or snow at night. A light to moderate northeast and north wind will dominate. Nighttime temperatures will range from -3…+3°C, while daytime temperatures will warm up to +4…+11°C, with some areas slightly cooler.

On Thursday night, a widespread precipitation zone will approach Latvia, bringing rain to many parts of the country. By Friday night, some areas may also see wet snow or snow.

Current forecasts indicate that precipitation will subside by the weekend, possibly bringing sunny weather on the weekend. Temperatures will remain similar—at night, many places will see temperatures drop below freezing, while daytime temperatures will not exceed 10°C.
