Over the weekend, an anticyclone approaching Latvia from the south will bring warm and dry weather. However, at the beginning of the new week, the influence of a cyclone will strengthen – clouds will cover the sky, precipitation is expected, and nighttime temperatures will drop below 0°C, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Center.
At the end of the week, sunshine will alternate with clouds, but no precipitation is expected. On Friday night, a light to moderate southwesterly and westerly wind will blow, reaching gusts of up to 15 m/s. During the day, the wind will weaken, and by the weekend, it will be light, ranging from 1-5 m/s.
In some areas, fog may reduce visibility, so drivers and pedestrians are urged to be cautious! Nighttime temperatures will remain around 0 to +4°C, although in some eastern regions, it may drop as low as -3°C. During the day, most of the country will experience temperatures between +8 and +13°C, but in some coastal and Vidzeme regions, temperatures will only reach +3 to +7°C.
The new workweek will start with dry and warm weather, but by Monday night, thick cloud cover will gradually set in, bringing precipitation – rain and, in some places, wet snow. Winds will remain light to moderate, but as colder air masses move into Latvia, nighttime temperatures will drop below 0°C in many areas. Days will also feel chillier, with maximum temperatures ranging only from 0 to +5°C.
In the latter half of the week, skies will clear in many areas, precipitation will decrease, and temperatures will gradually rise again.
