To end the war in Ukraine, Trump is prepared to double anti-Russian sanctions

US President Donald Trump is prepared to double sanctions against Russia to force Moscow to end the war against Ukraine, said Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg in an interview to New York Post.
The sanctions currently imposed on Russia in terms of economic pressure is currently at a 3 out of 10, said Kellogg.
US sanctions, such as those against Russia’s lucrative energy sector, are technically twice as high, but it is still possible to tighten them, the envoy explained.
“You could really increase the sanctions – especially the latest sanctions [targeting oil production and exports],” he said. “It’s opened the aperture way high to do something.”
“And if there’s anybody who understands leverage, it’s President Donald J. Trump, and you can see that with that he’s recently done [in other foreign problem-solving],” said the envoy.
