The results of the survey show that, in addition to the events related to Rail Baltica, an incident with the arrival of a Russian combat drone in the territory of Latvia has been equally alarming, according to experts. This suggests that the quality of public administration and security have been the most pressing issues on the agenda of the past year, which have most alarmed the public.
This observation is granted legitimacy by a different study. It was performed at the end of 2024 by
“vadiparmainas.lv” association of consultants. When questioning the top and middle-level employees of organisations about the threats that can cause crisis situations, it became clear that, besides cybersecurity, residents are worried the most about the possibility of a foreign invasion and unexpected changes in legislation and regulatory enactments.
