Multiple car service shops have winter tyre replacement jobs lined up all the way until mid-November, as LETA was told by representatives of various car service shops.
“AN Riepu Centrs” LLC representative Toms Āboliņš told LETA that November will definitely be very active, adding that people have become more responsible and no longer wait until the last moment to switch tyres.
He said the closest open booking at “AN Riepu Centrs” is in the middle of November.
Representatives of “Z222” LLC, which operates under “Riepu garāža” brand, in Zolitude mentioned November will be very active, stressing that bookings for tyre replacement jobs are all filled a week in advance.
The earliest people can sign up for winter tyre replacement is the middle of next week.
At the same time, the website of “T-System Tyres” mentions that the closest open booking at this car service centre and its branch is the second half of next week.
Road traffic regulations stipulate that from the 1st of December to the 1st of March, all cars and buses with a laden weight not exceeding 3 500 kg must be equipped with winter tires. At the same time, new requirements for winter tyres will come into force this winter, and from the 1st of December only winter tyres marked with the designation “mountain and snowflake” will be able to be used in road traffic.
