Starting with the 4th of November and until spring 2025 the speed limit on the overpasses of the Southern Bridge will be 50 km/sec instead of the current 70 km/h, Riga City Council reports.
The lowering the permitted speed on the Southern Bridge is an annual measure intended to increase road traffic safety during the winter season.
The increased speed limit will be imposed on the section between Maskavas Street to Lubānas Street and the opposite side of the bridge between Lubānas Street and Piedrujas Street.
Speed limits will remain in place until spring next year.
