On the 7th of August, Latvian Competition Council received a notification regarding the merger between Circle K Latvia LLC and Astarte Nafta LLC. As a result of this merge, Circle K Latvia will acquire one petrol station located on Krasta Street 93 in Riga.
Circle K is a company registered in Latvia. Its main activity is retail sale of fuel, autogas or LPG, petrol products, snacks, hot drinks and essential goods at petrol stations, as well as the design, construction and operation of petrol stations, wholesale of fuel, solid, liquid and gaseous fuels and similar products.
Astarte nafta is a company registered in Latvia. This company is engaged in the retail sale of fuel and lubricants, LPG, car accessories, hot drinks and essential goods.
The Competition Council is to make its decision as to whether or not to permit or prohibit the merger within one month from the date of receipt of the report.
In turn, if the case requires further in-depth investigation, the time limit for making a decision may be extended to three months from the date of receipt of the report.
