Minister Baiba Braže’s advisor for strategic communication and public diplomacy affairs will be Signe Znotiņa-Znota and her advisor for security and societal resilience issues will be Tomass Pildegovičs, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Znotiņa-Znota currently serves as the head of the State Audit’s Public Relations and Internal Communications Office. Between 2015 and 2019 she served as the press-secretary of the European Parliament in Latvia.
Between 2012 and 2015 Znotiņa-Znote served as the press-secretary to the Cabinet of Ministers. Between 2006 and 2012 she worked in a public relations agency. She holds Master’s degree in business management, Bachelor’s degree in communication science. She is expected to enter her post on the 7th of May.
Pildegovičs, on the other hand, served as senior expert at NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence for two years between 2022 and 2024. Before then he was MEP Sandra Kalniete’s advisor for foreign affairs and security affairs.
Pildegovičs holds a Master’s degree in politics and international relations from the University of Cambridge, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the Faculty of War Studies at King’s College London. Pildegovičs is a 2024 graduate of the Denton Transatlantic Programme of the European Centre for Policy Analysis, and has also been previously nominated as a security leader for the Warsaw Security Forum and GLOBSEC. He will join the minister’s team on the 20th of May.
