Weather in Latvia to become chilly

In the morning on Tuesday, the 16th of April, air temperature in Latvia was -2° C… +3° C, according to data from meteorological observation stations.
The lowest air temperature at night was -3° C in Mērsrags, Jūrmalā and Riga airport.
Weather in the coming days will be dictated by cyclone activity – weather will be rich with precipitation. The wind will calm down. The sun will shine between the clouds every now and then and rain will fall as well. At night and in morning hours there will be fog, impacting visibility. Wind speed will be slow. At night air temperature will remain at -2° C… +3° C. Daytime air temperature will reach +5° C… +10° C (+4° C… +7° C along the coast), according to Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
At the end of the week and on the weekend there will be frequent showers. At times air temperature will stay at 0° C or lower. Snow and wet snow will replace rain, but no stable layer of snow will form.
Wind speed in most of the country will be slow. The wind will be slightly stronger along the coast. At night, air temperature will drop to -1° C… +4° C (-2° C… -4° C on the weekend at night). Daytime air temperature will mostly stay at +2° C… +9° C.
