On Thursday, the 21st of March, the sky will be cloudy. Moments of clear sky are expected in eastern parts of the country, as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Thursday there will be some precipitation in some areas throughout the day. In the afternoon a precipitation zone will approach Latvia from the west – rainfall is expected in western and central regions.
Meteorologists say that it will rain in most of the country on Friday. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the south. On Friday the wind will blow from the south and south-west, reaching a speed of 15-16 m/sec along the coast.
Air temperature will gradually go up, reaching +3° C… +9° C during the day. At night, however, air temperature will drop below 0° C only at times and in eastern regions.
On Saturday warmer masses of air will continue flowing to the country. Weather will be dictated by cyclone activity. This means air temperature will go up slightly. Weather will still become windier and richer with precipitation. Daytime air temperature will reach +11° C again, meteorologists say.
On Sunday and the start of the last week of March, a new active cyclone will approach Latvia. Rain and wet snow are expected in all of Latvia. At times precipitation will be intense. The wind will blow from the west and south-west. On Sunday wind speed in eastern territories will reach 15-18 m/sec.
