SEB, the largest bank in Estonia, organised a coin collection campaign during which a customer brought in coins totalling almost 12 900 euros. The campaign mainly concerns the smallest one and two cent coins, on Thursday, the 21st of March, reports Estonian media ERR.
Chief Private Client Manager at SEB Evelin Koplimäe said that more than 1 150 people took part in the coin collection campaign, during which the bank’s coin machines counted and deposited the coins into customers’ bank accounts for free.
She said that as a result, more than one million coins of different denominations were deposited in customers’ accounts, with
the smallest amount deposited amounting to 34 cents and the largest almost 12 900 euro.
In total, over four tonnes of coins were brought to the bank’s branches in Tallinn and Tartu over a two-week period, totalling almost 300 000 euro.
Koplimäe added that SEB supported the joint campaign of the Bank of Estonia and Omniva, which has already resulted in more than three million coins being collected.
