Inflation in Latvia below average in EU and Eurozone in February

In February 2024 inflation in Latvia was below the average in the European Union and Eurozone, according to the latest data published by Eurostat.
Annual inflation in Latvia, like Denmark, was 0.6% in February, which is also the lowest level among EU member states. Inflation was higher in Romania (7.1%), Croatia (4.8%), Estonia (4.4%), Austria (4.2%) and Slovakia (3.8%). In Lithuania and Finland inflation was 1.1% last month.
Consumer prices in February went up in all EU member states.
In the EU average inflation reached 2.8% in February. In Eurozone it was 2.6%.
Compared to January, consumer prices in both the EU and Eurozone went down by 0.6% in February.
Consumer prices in February, when compared to the month prior, went up in Latvia, Estonia and Greece by 0.1%. Inflation was observed in all EU member states. Italy is one exception – where consumer prices remained unchanged. Inflation was the highest in Belgium (+2.4%), Luxembourg (+1.7%) and Ireland (+1.1%). In Lithuania consumer prices went up by 0.7%.
