Lidl unveils plans to open 30th store in Latvia

The retailer Lidl Latvia LLC plans to open its 30th store in Latvia at the end of February.
The opening of the store that will be located on Krasta Street in Riga is scheduled for the 29th of February, according to the company’s representatives.
The building and the surrounding area project was designed by Diānas Zalānes projektu birojs LLC. Construction work was performed by Aimasa LLC.
The company notes that at least 900 decorative bushes and tree saplings worth EUR 138 000 were planted in the vicinity of the new store. Lidl has also invested nearly EUR 610 000 into the construction of a new turnaround road near the Island Bridge – Lāčplēsis Street viaduct.
The company does not reveal the total investment put into this project.
Lidl is part of Schwarz Group based in Germany. It is one of the biggest food product retailers in Germany and Europe. With more than 12 200 stores and 220 logistics centres, Lidl is active in 31 countries and has representation in Asia.
Lidl Latvia LLC was composed in February 2018. Lidl opened its network of stores in Latvia on the 7th of October 2021. Currently Lidl has 29 stores in 13 Latvian cities.
