Russia attacks Ukraine’s cities with missiles and drones

On the night to Friday, the 29th of December, Russian forces performed massive missile and drone attacks on multiple Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv, Lviv, Odessa and Kyiv, as reported by officials.
Explosions were heard in Kyiv, as reported by the city’s mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram platform.
“At five o’clock in the morning today fascist followers performed an attack on a peaceful city with S-300 missiles. Ten explosions were heard in Kharkiv,” local police reported.

Attacks were performed on Sumi and Konotop as well.

In Odessa drone debris fell on an apartment building, causing a fire, the city’s mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov reports.
Ukrainian media reported explosions in Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia as well.
A shopping centre caught on fire in Dnipro. There may be victims, local media report.
General Staff of the Ukrainian Army reports that Ukrainian troops shot down 18 out of 22 Shahed strike drones Russia fired at Ukraine last night.
“According to initial information, Lviv was attacked with at least ten Shahed drones. A fire broke out at critical infrastructure. No comments,” the mayor of Ukraine’s western city Andriy Sadovij reported on Telegram.
“There is no information about any victims,” he added.
Before updated information was reported, Sadovij reported two Shahed drone strikes in Lviv.
On the night to Friday Ukrainian army received information of nine Russian strategic Tu-95MS strategic bombers leaving Russian Murmansk region Olenya airfield.
Missile attack warnings were announced in many Ukrainian regions.
