Air temperature will continue going down: from Wednesday night onward in most of Latvia air temperature will remain at 0° C… -4° C, according to the State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
On Tuesday colder masses of air will start flowing into Latvia from the north. Precipitation will calm down on Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday precipitation will be only slight and local. As air temperature goes down, roads will become slippery – motorists are urged to be careful!
The wind will be slow. At night and in morning hours it is possible fog may appear in various areas in Latvia, which will worsen visibility.
Minimal air temperature at night will be at +1° C… -4° C. Air temperature is expected to go slightly higher than that in coastal areas on Wednesday. Air temperature during the day will stay at 0° C… +4° C (+6° C along the coast on Tuesday).
Weather will remain similar at the end of the week, with slight and local precipitation only. Air temperature both at night and during the day will continue going down. Air temperature in most of Latvia on the national holiday will remain 0° C… -4° C. It may drop below -5° C in some areas. At the beginning of next week, as cyclone activity goes up, there will be rain and snow.
