In the coming days residents in Latvia are advised to look for a warmer jumper, because colder masses of air will flow to the country from the north, according to the forecast from the Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
As colder masses of air flow to the country from the north, some areas in Latvia may see more than just rain – wet snow and snow.
However, no sustainable layer of snow is expected to form.
Atmospheric pressure will go up in the middle of the week, causing precipitation to calm down and appear only in some areas. Air temperature will continue going down – from Wednesday night onward air temperature in most of the country will remain at 0 C… +4 C.
On Tuesday, the 14th of November, colder masses of air will start flowing to the country from the north. On the night to Tuesday rain is expected in most of the country, as well as wet snow and wet snow in eastern parts. Precipitation will calm down during the day. Precipitation on Wednesday and Thursday will be slight and local.
The wind will be slow – motorists should be careful because at night and in morning hours fog will impede visibility. At night minimal air temperature will be +1 C… +4 C. On Tuesday air temperature will drop below 0 C. During the day air temperature will reach 0 C… +4 C (slightly warmer along the coast).
In the middle of the week weather will be similar – slight and local precipitation. Air temperature at night and during the day will go down – in most of Latvia air temperature will remain at 0 C… -4 C.
