Though Saeima’s vote is coming up, there is still no clarity as to minister candidates in Latvia

Even though the Saeima vote for the new government is set to take place on Friday, the 15th September, there is still no official information about any minister candidates in Latvia.
As journalists were told by prime minister candidate Evika Siliņa, consultations still continue. Once they are done, official announcements will follow.

This should happen “soon”.

The politician did not say if the announcement regarding minister candidates could come on Wednesday or at some later date, however.
As it is known, coalition partners New Unity, Progressive Party and the Union of Greens and Farmers continue government-formation negotiations in Latvia.

The new government declaration project may be published on Tuesday, the 12th of September.

LETA previously reported hat in parallel to official negotiations, politicians also continue informal consultations.
Politicians confirm both officially and unofficially that the Saeima’s vote is planned for Friday, the 15th of September.
The coalition being formed will have 52 votes in the parliament. On top of that independent Saeima deputy and chairman of Honour to Serve Riga Oļegs Burovs plans to support the new government. His party has agreed to cooperate with ZZS.
