On Monday, the 28th of August, weather in Latvia will be volatile: two cyclones from the south will bring very heavy rain to some areas of the country. There is also a possibility of a thunderstorm with hail, according to the latest weather forecast.
The first cyclone reached Latvia on the night to Monday, causing the strongest precipitation in the morning in Kurzeme. Meteorologists say the highest risk of a thunderstorm will be in the country’s eastern regions.
Forecasts indicate the weather will likely cause hail and strong wind. The risk of a storm, however, will be relatively low.
The risk of a storm will increase on Wednesday and the nigh to Thursday, when the next cyclone is expected to pass through Latvia. Maximum air temperature is expected to reach +20 C along the coast (+30 C in Latgale).
In the second half of the week weather will become cooler and sunnier. The 1st of September is expected to be mostly sunny with local rainfall. The wind will blow from the west and south-west. Air temperature will be +9 C… +14 C at night and +19 C… +22 C in the afternoon.
The first weekend of September is expected to be moderately warm with a possibility of rain.
