Man in Australia accused of sexually abusing 91 children

Police in Australia call this one of the most horrific cases of such wickedness in the country.
The 45-year-old man, who is a former childcare worker,

is accused of 1 623 individual crimes,

including 136 cases of rape and 110 cases of sexual acts with children younger than nine years, as reported by Australian police.
Investigators took the suspect into custody after finding child pornography on the “dark web”. Investigators traced contents back to a childcare centre in Brisbane. It is only after looking through the suspect’s phone and computer contents did the investigators comprehend the true severity of the crimes committed by him. More than 4 000 images and videos containing child pornography was found on the man’s electronic devices.
Police say crimes were committed at ten different childcare centres between 2007 and 2022. Most of the victims were girls of pre-pubescent age. Some of the victims were only a year old.
It is worth mentioning that the man

passed tight inspections necessary to be allowed to work at childcare centres in Australia.

Although 87 out of 91 victims were from Australia, police believe there were four yet unidentified children that were sexually abused between 2013 and 2014, when the suspect was working oversees. Australian police confirm having cooperated with international law enforcement structures to locate those children.
Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner Justine Gough, says this is one of the most horrifying cases he has ever seen. “It’s beyond the realms of anyone’s imagination, what this person did to these children. You try not to be shocked after a long period of time in the police, but this is a horrific case,” she said.
[For years Australian residents have been terrorised by many paedophilic crimes committed both in the country and outside its borders. Sexual acts involving a child for the production of pornography are punishable by 10-year prison sentence under the laws of this country, but sexual offences directed against young children can carry a maximum sentence of ‘life imprisonment’, which is usually 25 years – BNN].
