KNAB “visits” Sigulda County Council; one deputy and businessman under investigation

On the 13th of July Latvian Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) performed a search at Sigulda County Council as part of ongoing criminal proceedings.
Sigulda County Council’s public relations office’s manager Zane Leimane confirms that KNAB did perform investigative activities.

She said she is unable to provide more information about KNAB’s investigation in the county council.

Sigulda Council Council chairperson Līga Sausiņa told LTV Panorāma that KNAB had visited the council, but she did not say what law enforcers did there specifically.
According to information from LETA, one of the county council’s deputies and some businessman are involved in the criminal process.
