Recently multiple Twitter users have shared a video in which Baltic anti-fascists organisation invites people to fight in Ukraine against “fascists” and later “sort out Baltic States”.
In a little over a minute-long video spokespersons for this organisation say they have received permission to form volunteer battalions from Baltic States to go to war in Ukraine.
Baltijas fašisti (paši sevi kaut kāpēc dēvē par antifašistiem) sākuši formēt brīvprātīgo bataljonus no Baltijas valstīm karošanai Ukrainā.

Both speakers mention in the video about receiving many calls and letters with questions about joining the “fight against fascists” and about “going to the front”.
“The time has come. We can sigh you up, train and provide a job. We can help sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence to receive permission to undergo military training to fight in Ukraine with our common enemies,” the two people in the video say, adding that “those who want to fight have to follow all security measures to avoid getting caught and punished”.
“Like our enemy, we remain vigilant. We are gathering the people who are ready to fight these enemies to the death,” stress the representatives of Baltic anti-fascists.
Twitter users had various responses to this video. Some wrote “these disloyal people should leave for their madly-loved Russia, because Baltic States don’t need such people”.
Others asked what state security institutions and governments think about all this, and others ironically posted that “the Russian army is out of meat to send to die in Ukraine”.
So far none of the Baltic state and security institutions have reacted to this video.
On the 24th of February 2022 Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the country’s armed forces to commence an invasion of Ukraine. Putin claimed NATO was preparing to use Ukraine to go to war with Russia. According to Ukraine, however, Putin’s objective was to occupy and take over Ukraine.
